24/7 - Tina Turner's latest - Hate to say it, but I pretty much agree with the Salon critic about Tina's latest. It's just ... there. I'm not quite sure why. "Wildest Dreams", her last release, was sort of over the top in a nicely kitschy way (well, it had "Goldeneye" on it, as well as a duet with Barry White that, for all that it was sort of slow and mellow, kicked serious ass), and "Steamy Windows", the one before that, was very bluesy and cool, and coming after those, this one is just ... bland. I'll be surprised if she can get much radio airplay with it; I've already stopped seeing the massively irritating video for whatever the first release was.
